Apple and Peach Crisp is a Fall favorite at our house. A delicious treat that just seems to warm the soul. Head to your local farmer’s market and pick up a basket of apples, a basket of peaches and head home to make a family favorite. The great part of this dessert is you can change up the fruit to make your combination or add a handful of cranberries for a pop of color. Other Fall desserts we love to make are Baked Apples and this amazing Pumpkin Cake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese.Â
Nothing says Fall to me like apples (and pumpkins). Â I love baking with apples, going apple picking, visiting Farmer’s Market’s and savoring the rich flavors of Fall.
One of my favorite dishes to make is a fruit crisp. Â I love the versatility of mixing in Fall fruits, baking with butter, oats and brown sugar – topped with ice cream it is really the perfect, heartwarming dessert. Â While many people prefer chocolate desserts, I would choose fruit crisp every time.

You will notice this crisp has butter cut up on top rather than all of it being in the oat mixture. This adds to the crispiness of the crust and it also spreads out the butter fairly evenly. Â You might find that there are dry patches on the top you can add a bit of lemon juice in those areas if you’d like or see if the juice from the crisp rises to the top. Â The end result with this Apple and Peach Crisp is fruit crisp perfection!

I actually made this. It is low sugar which I liked .
suggestions use a mix of apples tart and sweet to balance. Since no measurement on the cinnamon 1 -1/2 teaspoon worked well. No baking dish size stated I used a 9×13 this will bubble over I placed a sheet pan under baking dish. The crust was amazing, I will use this method on all my crisps.
Rating 5 stars.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Will correct the cinnamon measurement to 1tsp.

Great recipe. Added some strawberries to a bag of frozen peaches and 3 fresh apples, not the tart variety. On top of the crust, half way though baking, I added some roasted crushed walnuts and and pecans. Delish!

Great idea! Will have to try that the next time I make this recipe.

I just made this was very, easy. Upon cooking and tasting, I taste salt? Very salty? I know, salt is not in the recipe, and it was no where near where I mixed ingredients. I am beside myself. No one home when I made it so not a practical joke. Any ideas?
I used new flour, new oats, new butter (salted but no salty taste) new Brown Sugar. New peaches and Granny smith Apples. What happened? Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you were disappointed by the results. I would recommend using unsalted butter if you can taste salt. Since there isn’t any salt in the recipe I’m not sure how that flavour would come through except for the butter. We make this recipe often and haven’t had an issue with a salt flavour.
