Q & A with YYZ Bambina

I was first drawn to Sarah’s blog because of the blog name YYZ Bambina. Living close to Toronto, I know that YYZ was the airport code for Pearson International. Intrigued I checked out the blog. What I found was the stories of a wonderful new mother blogging about her daughter, motherhood and reviewing lots of great products. When I got to meet Sarah at a blogging conference, I knew we’d be great blogging friends :)

1. Why did you become a blogger?

I started blogging on my maternity leave with my first (and so far only) child. I work in Communications and Marketing, so I wanted to continue writing and keep up on social media.

2. What inspires you about blogging?

My favourite part of blogging is when I share a personal story, and people comment that they totally know how I feel. Because I am the first of most of my close friends to be a mom, having the support of other moms, even online, is so essential. It’s nice to know I’m not alone, and it inspires me to keep writing because I hope my posts will make someone else feel less alone.

3. What is your favorite blog post? Why

This is a tough one, the more blog posts I write the stiffer the competition becomes! Sentimentally, my favourite will always remain “A New Best Friend” (http://www.yyzbambina.com/2012/06/new-best-friend.html). It’s almost a love letter to my daughter, who was not even 6 months old when I wrote it. Now she’s 13 months it still applies to most things, but my love for her has grown even more. Sometimes I feel as dependent on her as she is on me… sometimes I only get through the work day thinking about the huge smile and big hug she’ll give me when I get to her daycare!

4. What is your favorite food/recipe?

My fiance does most of the cooking in my house. He makes a mean Pesto Chicken/Mushroom/Sundried Tomatoes Fusilli. I’m a huge fan of, and our daughter loves it too.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would LOVE to go on an African Safari. When I visited Animal Kingdom a couple of years ago in Orlando, I went on their safari “ride”. It just piqued my interest even more! I’d also love to travel to Asia, specifically Japan. Last year I went to Hawaii, and I’d love to go back…to live. I’ve had enough of Canadian winters! Although, I do want to show my daughter all of Canada. I would love to take the train out west, and then visit my relatives who live there.
