Like many women I fail to take time for myself. Amidst the many responsibilities I have it seems that my idea of “treating myself” is with food. I know I am not alone. Food is a comfort, and an easy one at that. However, my perspective has changed since having my boys. I really want to be in better shape physically, and healthier. Admittedly this isn’t always true after a sleepless night with twin toddlers. When I am tired, all willpower goes out the window.
Our family strives to eat natural, whole foods. We purchase as few processed foods as possible and cherish our CSA farm share in the summer months. We love to buy local and support local businesses.
Finding the perfect evening snack has been a real challenge for me. I love popcorn so that is a staple but I have been trying to find a snack that is crunchy, sweet and has enough protein to keep me satisfied. I believe I finally have it! I made myself a yogurt parfait with granola and fresh fruit and it was divine.

While eating my parfait I was looking through my Facebook News Feed and found that a friend had posted this quote:
