Last summer the boys got a Nintendo DS with Mario Cart. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to grasp the concept of a this type of game but within minutes they had the game figured out and were competing against each other! A further reminder that my boys are definitely not having the childhood I did. Although I did love Super Mario Bros as a kid.
Saturday afternoons are quiet around our house. After hockey in the morning and a healthy lunch the boys are ready for some Nintendo DS time. New games are full of exploration and excitement. The challenge of understanding how it works, what the objective is and the experience of sharing your victories with your friends/family is all part of the fun.
Between winter colds and absolutely freezing temperatures the boys loved having time to explore their new games and they definitely beat the winter blues with Nintendo DS.
I love that when one is playing the other likes to watch and “help” from the sidelines. True brotherly love! Their current favourite is Mario & Luigi Paper Jam because they really like to see characters they are familiar with in a different setting. Chasing after paper toads, princesses and experiencing a whole new land.

My nephews are obsessed with Nintendo 3DS. Like you – it’s always fun for us to see the sweet brotherly love when they root for each other and take turns. For me, I think I would totally rock out the Yo-Kai Watch!

Like all of us, it’s nice for the kiddos to have some downtime after a busy period in their day. Nintendo DS time seems to fit that bill perfectly and I think it’s awesome that they share and help each other out! PS…Your boys are ADORABLE!!

WELL I have girls who have been using this thing for years now ever since they were about the same age as your kids. They love Nintendo even still. There’s less time to play it now but still it is fun. One of their favourites is actually Animal Crossing in all its variations. They haven’t got this one yet. I was contemplating that for Christmas and then somehow forgot about buying it or maybe it was out by the time I got to Best Buy. Anyways there’s a lot of great Nintendo games out there for sure.

We have a couple of Nintendo 3DS devices, but they’re mine and my hubby’s. My oldest keeps trying to steal mine though. ;-) I have Paper Mario: Stickers Stars, and I’ve asked hubby to pick up Paper Jam for me. I love the art style, and M&L are all-time favourites from my own childhood.
