I am captivated by so many of the sports but I have been drawn to gymnastics since I was a little girl. I always marveled at the power, the strength and the poise of the gymnasts. This summer, the Canadian team is doing better than we ever have at the Olympics. I am enjoying watching every moment that I can.
At the beginning of this summer I was looking for activities for my boys to do and found very few options for two year olds. It seems that most programs start at three. But, I did find Parent and Tot gymnastics and it has been a BIG hit with the boys. To say that they love it might be an understatement. I pretty much have to hold them back or they would push the other kids out of the way to get at the equipment. Here are a few shots of the boys:
Tackling the obstacle course |
Loving the barrel of soft blocks |
Somersault! |
Champion of the Rings |
Trying out the uneven bars |
We also do Kindermusik with the boys to make sure we give an arts/sports balance. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my boys enjoy an activity and expand their minds through exposure to different things. While often toddler classes are really just organized chaos I really do think it aids in their development and their understanding of the world around them. Looking forward to more gymnastics classes in the future.

I used to teach rec gymnastics and my favourite class was the Parent and Tot.
I can’t wait until my babe is old enough to join!
Your twins look like they have a great time.

It was so much fun! I can only imagine how fun it would be to teach it. I would recommend it to anyone for their kids!

Love it!! I completely agree, letting them experience all sorts of things is so good for them. I swear, chaos is the life of a toddler anyway, might as well make it worthwhile chaos!

Such a great statement. I love the idea of “worthwhile chaos!”

That looks like so much fun. We haven’t put graham in any classes yet, but now he is three, so I need to start looking into it. Thankfully they have stuff at his school that I can just pay extra for. With Gwen’s current bedtime at 630, I don’t know if we could manage anything on the weekend.

I can only imagine how hard it would be to juggle to different schedules. Defnitely look around though and see if there is anything that works. It has been such a great experience for us to do a couple of activities with our boys.

So much fun! Looks just like photos of my twin boys (now age 9) playing at our indoor gym. They actually had a preschool there and my boys fave part was playing in the gym at the end of the day. Visiting you from the SITS Saturday Sharefest!

Thank you for stopping by! I wish our preschool had a gym, but so glad we found this program for our boys.
