Grilled hot dogs are second only in taste to my fav – camping hot dogs done over an open fire. Either way this recipe for simple toppings that result in an absolutely fantastic hot dog – salty, savoury and crunchy!
My boys used to love having BBQ hot dogs – it was a favorite lunch in the summer. However, recently they found hot dogs boring and any time I’d suggest it they’d say, “No, thanks, Mom.”
Sometimes I go for another summer classic like our favorite burger recipe or I will decide to make grilled pork tenderloin. When I really want hot dogs this is our new go-to hot dog recipe. Fun toppings, delicious hot dogs and an easy summer meal with little prep or clean up!
Our recommended dessert for this meal is our lemon cupcakes.
The best part is that you only need 5 ingredients and about 10 minutes to make these delicious summer treats. Not a fan of the combo? Make your own Hot Dog Bar filled with an assortment of toppings so that your guests/family can top their own dog just the way they like it.

I’m sort of a traditionalist when it comes to hot dog toppings. First I add a squirt of mustard, then ketchup. Some relish and then then diced onions. Top it all off with some warm sauerkraut–I am a very happy camper!
