Brownies and ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. The combination of flavors in these rich, dense black bean brownies is absolutely the best with ice cream or a tall glass of milk.
Unlike the brownies you usually make, these black bean brownies are packed with fiber, protein and sweetened with dates and applesauce.
They are healthy brownies that everyone will love!
The magic of brownies for me is that they feel like the perfect combination of fudge and cake. Great on their own, perfect with a caramel drizzle and always fantastic with ice cream. Plus, you can enjoy them any time of year and any holiday or family gathering.
I love that this recipe for black bean brownies is gluten-free, has almost no added sugar and the addition of parchment paper means the pan is easier to clean than the blender. We made these in the Fresh and Furious Blender.
We’ve topped our brownie recipe with chocolate chips but you can modify to sprinkle marshmallows, Skor bits, white chocolate or caramel chips as the topping. All will add a hint of flavor and prevent a flat brownie top.
Our black bean brownies are made in a high power blender so there is only the blender jar to wash!
Easy to make, delicious and healthy too? The perfect combination for the best black bean brownie recipe.

If you have any difficulty getting the blender to mix the batter (it’s quite thick) pulse the blender a few times and then once it’s started to mix it will blend smoothly. Make sure you have a spatula handy to scrape out every last drop of batter for the pan. You won’t want to waste a single drop of these amazing brownies.Â
Not interested in having any kind of sugar in the mix? Omit the chocolate chips and you have flourless black bean brownies with no artificial sugar = the healthiest brownie recipe that your family will love.
My boys give this recipe four thumbs up!

I would love to know how close to a normal brownie they taste? We LOVE brownies! I am having a hard time imagining that black beans can make anything good (but then that would be why my doctor is telling me it is imperative I start losing weight). If I win the blender though I will definately try it. I don’t think my magic bullet would do the trick, lol.
Might try these out!
I have a sweet tooth, so I would definitely enjoy these!
The brownies look amazing
Great recipe

Wow, i would have never thought of adding black beans to brownies but what a creative idea and adding beans would make them healthier and more filling
The recipe calls for 1 TABLESPOON of vanilla. Is that correct? I’ve seen another recipe essentially identical to this one calling for 1 TEASPOON of vanilla. A tablespoon seems like a lot. Is that correct?
Thanks
Yes, I use 1 tbsp – gives it a great flavor!
