Fresh fish at home is a special meal that we love as a family. From those memories as a child of eating fresh fish from our local lake to special meals while travelling it’s a meal that brings back a lot of positive memories. When I got the Breville The Steam Zone™ I was thrilled to see a picture of a fresh fish steamed and knew that was what my first dish would be. After heading to my local butcher for Rainbow Trout fillets I used one of my favourite marinades to give the trout a delicious flavour. The result was this simple and delicious Honey Soy Rainbow Trout recipe with snap peas and mushrooms. The perfect combination of flavours and cooked in just 15 minutes!
Honey Soy Rainbow Trout Recipe with Snap Peas and Mushrooms
Made on The Breville Steam Zone™
Marinade:
1/4 cup soya sauce
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
Ingredients:
2-3 Rainbow trout fillets
2 green onions thinly sliced
2 cups snap peas
2 cups mixed mushrooms
Directions:
Place fish fillets in a shallow dish (skin side down) and top with 3/4 of the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. Set remaining marinade aside.
Remove fish from pan allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place on The Steam Zone™ large steaming tray with skin side up. Top with sliced green onions.
Turn on Breville The Steam Zone™ and cook for 15 minutes. Meanwhile in a frying pan add mushrooms, snap peas and remaining marinade. Cook on medium until cooked through.
Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds.
Serve immediately.
The final result is a perfectly cooked fish with the subtle flavours of Honey and Soy. Combined with the burst of the snap peas and the dense flavour of the mushrooms it’s a special meal you can make at home any night of the week. Healthy, fast and delicious!

I am such a fan of fish but don’t make it much for my family as my kids aren’t big on it. This yummy-sounding glaze may just change their opinion!

Sounds like a great recipe but their is nothing better then a trout roll in flour and fried in butter.

I love Rainbow Trout, in fact I love most fish. This sounds like a wonderful recipe, just up my street I’d say. Thanks so much for posting :-)
