Maple Bacon Cheesecake is by far the best combination of sweet and salty I’ve ever tasted. The richness of the cheesecake combined with the delicious bacon is a match made in dessert heaven! While you might be skeptical of this combination at first, I guarantee it will delight your tastebuds and impress your family/guests. Easy to make and great to transport it makes an ideal (and unique) dessert for any potluck or group gathering this holiday season. Plus, with “Bacon Day” on December 30 you have the perfect dessert to showcase the versatility of bacon (although, Bacon is delicious anytime of the year!).
Did you know that Canadians LOVE bacon? In a survey conducted by duBreton, an all-Canadian company and North America’s number one producer of Certified Humane Raised and Handled (Certified Humane) pork, they found that more than 90% of Canadians enjoy bacon. Of these bacon-loving Canadians, 80% of us prefer it cooked all the way through, crispy and able to pick up and eat with your hands – no utensils required! Another 6% of us want our bacon to be soft and chewy, barely touching the pan; while 5% of respondents love it really cooked, charred and crumbly to the touch.
However you like it, naturally smoked duBreton premium bacon with generous, thick and meaty slices and no added nitrites or nitrates is the ideal choice on its own or in your favourite bacon recipes.
This is why I partnered with them earlier this year to create some #duBretonDelicious recipes: this Maple Bacon Cheesecake and Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Blue Cheese and Figs.
