We make this Slow Cooker Chicken with Hoisin Sauce at least a few times a month. And it’s a go-to when family is coming for dinner. So easy to multiply the recipe for a crowd.
I tried this recipe out first on a friend who is definitely a picky eater. Worried that he wouldn’t like the meal I cooked I tried to create a recipe that would be similar to the Chinese take-out he loved (but healthier!).
We had a busy day planned so it was the perfect reason to throw the ingredients in the slow cooker before we headed out for the day. Upon arriving home the smell was so amazing my mouth was instantly watering. I put the rice in the Rice Cooker and set the table.
Once the chicken was done I left it on “warm” and made the pan sauce. The pan sauce is a key part of this recipe and since it only takes 10 minutes it doesn’t add a lot of time or prep work for your meal. I served the dish in a low pasta bowl with chopsticks (and cutlery) and we had a fantastic meal that was loved by everyone.
