Visiting Toronto with kids can be so much fun. The city and its surrounding area are beautiful and full of life, colour, and adventure. Why Toronto? It’s a safe, clean and fun city with unique festivals, restaurants and neighbourhoods. While it may be the most populated city in Canada it doesn’t have the hustle and bustle that other large cities have. With world class theatre, sporting events and music scene Toronto has something for everyone. However, while your kids would love taking in a Jays game there are lots of fantastic Toronto attractions to explore. When travelling with kids it’s important to find experiences that appeal to them. They want to explore, and interact with the world around them. I guarantee your kids will absolutely love visiting Toronto!
Four Places That Make Visiting Toronto a Kid Paradise
With a city as full of adventure and excitement as Toronto, there’s no shortage of great places to take the kids. On our trip to Toronto these were four attractions our boys absolutely loved.  If you are visiting Toronto these four picks will ensure that the kids have as much fun as the grownups.
CN Tower
Take the kids on a vertical adventure at the CN Tower. This achievement in architecture is a great experience for both the view and the educational opportunities it provides. Classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1995, the CN Tower offers amazing views from its impressive deck as well attractions, exhibits, and more. From the observation decks you can see over 160kms on a clear day and sometimes right across Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls and Rochester, NY! Don’t forget to check out the glass floor and with one of the best restaurants in the city 360 is a must dine experience.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
Visiting Toronto is never complete without a trip to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. See a myriad of undersea life including sharks, piranhas, rays, and more. The aquarium also offers tons of day programs, activities, and more for the kids, all of which are both educational and totally mind blowing for the young ones. With a fantastic moving walkway through the Dangerous Lagoon you are up close and personal with sharks, rays and thousands of fish. With more than 5.7 million litres of water and 16 000 marine animals your kids will be amazed. Plus with exhibits featuring the fish of Canada you get to learn more about the aquatic life of our lakes and oceans.
Royal Ontario Museum
When visiting Toronto with the kids, be sure to make time for the Royal Ontario Museum. With tons of interactive opportunities for the kids that make learning fun for the kids, including ROMKids exhibits and my boys favourite – the dinosaurs! There is even an interactive area where kids can excavate dinosaur bones, try on costumes, play, explore and create. Plus as Canada’s largest museum there is something to interest everyone. From a bat cave to Ancient Rome it’s a fun day trip. Make sure you look into the special exhibitions there is always something exciting happening at the ROM.
Toronto Railway Museum
Visiting Toronto wouldn’t be complete for the kids without a trip to the Toronto Railway Museum. All kids love trains, and the Toronto Railway Museum has plenty of interesting things for the kids to see. They can take a ride on a miniature train, see cool old conductor uniforms, experience a simulator, and more. It’s train heaven. The Roundhouse is directly across from Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada and features some amazing old trains your can climb on and explore. There’s even a little train you can ride on!
