What Having It All Means To Me #iwantitall

Having it all is something we often talk about. Comments like “they have it all” or “she’s got it all” are thrown around as casual statements but truly what does it mean to “Have it All”?  Food Basics is challenging us to think about this concept and what it means to you.

For me that concept of having it all has evolved over time. Having it all used to mean passport stamps, expensive dinners out and living a life where I had control over everything. I loved the challenge of University and appreciated the student life and all it had to offer. I travelled on Reading Week and during the summer and experienced so much of Europe, Great Britain and some of the U.S. I taught English in the Czech Republic and enjoyed wine and delicious meals in many beautiful places.

Once I began working full time I had the opportunity to add more passport stamps journeying to Kenya and Ecuador and back to Europe. I loved every moment and truly believed that I “had it all.” Friends, family and adventure.

Then, I fell in love, got married and had two beautiful boys that would change my world. In some ways my life slowed down and in others it sped up. More time at home, shorter trips and two babies, then toddlers and now young boys to love. While I dream of taking my boys to every continent I am content with trips to our local beach and Florida in the winters. My current passport isn’t full of stamps but it’s full of family memories and a new kind of adventure. Having it all is having my boys and sharing life with them. It’s shared experiences, bedtime stories and learning about every dinosaur that ever existed. It’s the happiest I’ve ever been. I definitely have it all and am so grateful that I do. Iwantitall

Now it’s your turn – think about what having it all means to you and film, upload, share and win! Film a 5-15 second video answering the question: “If you won free groceries for an entire year, what would you do with the savings?” Upload the video to www.foodbasics.ca/videocontest for a chance to win one of six prizes of groceries for a year—$1,000 in Food Basics gift cards!

While in-store you will also see  teams walking around with cameras to ask customers what “I want it all” giving you additional chances to win.

Don’t forget to hare what having it all means to you on social media with the hashtags #iwantiitall #foodbasics

Note: To be entered in the contest, videos must be uploaded to the web, sharing on social media won’t count as a contest entry. Find out all the details and enter at Food Basics Video Contest

Hmmm, having it all can mean so much and I am just grateful that I have healthy, happy kids and a hubby. This is a great giveaway though and will really make people think about what having it all can mean for them. The savings would certainly come in handy for other bills, LOL.

Humm… having it all means exactly where I am today. My healthy family in my arms, me as a stay at home mom, self-employed, travelling when and where we can afford and building our dream home. Having the opportunity to give back and help other’s feel Hope. This is my dream, this is what I always dreamed.

Having it all means to me: healthy, happy kids, food in our tummies and a roof over our heads. That’s all I need :)

What a wonderful post! I know exactly what you mean by this. I used to love what I did more than anything in the world. I loved reporting hard news stories and racing out to cover them. I loved traveling for work. BUT then the kids came along and it didn’t feel so necessary to fill passports anymore. Having it all changes I think depending on your stage of life.
