I have a bit of a problem, I think I might be a cookbook hoarder! Â Yes, that’s right. Â I have a zillion cookbooks. Â The irony is that I use almost all of them! Â I love cookbooks for inspiration, for quick recipes and to think of new and creative ways to pair items together. (www.losaltosresort.com) Â Plus, with two 4 year olds I don’t get time to read novels anymore but I always have time to look through a cookbook.
This month DK Books is celebrating all that we love about food and drink with 30% of their Food and Drink Boutique
Here are some of the great titles you can find:
Chef Morimoto is one of my husband and I’s favourites as we have been fans of Iron Chef for many years. Â His new cookbook brings a wide variety of culinary skills and expertise together in a way that everyone can learn from him and try out some of his masterpieces like Daikon Fettuccini
Featuring 125 incredible and accessible recipes, including Tuna Pizza and mouth-watering Bouillabaisse to sinfully rich Chocolate Tart with White Chocolate Sorbet, this magnificently photographed cookbook includes amazing step by step photography as well as special features explaining Chef Morimoto’ cooking techniques and plating philosophies.
Our slow cooker is a kitchen saviour, especially on busy week nights. Â I love being able to pop in the ingredients in the morning and come home to dinner being ready. Â It’s like magic! Â The Slow Cook Book is filled with tons of recipes to make your slow cooker your kitchen hero!
From braising and stewing to poaching, steaming and baking, this indispensable kitchen handbook introduces slow cooking and makes use of step-by-step techniques and photography to ensure great results for 200 delicious recipes – from tasty tagines to fragrant curries. An ideal reference for the time-pressed cook on a tight budget, this book celebrates slow cooking in all its forms!Â
And finally, my new favourite and the book we are giving away The Family Cookbook .  A fabulous collection of great recipes that are perfect for any family.
With more than 700 recipes — each with a picture of the finished dish — DK’s Family Cookbook is packed with nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals perfect for anyone looking to feed their family good-quality, healthy meals on a budget.
Addressing food allergies, picky eaters, and how to keep meals healthy, the Family Cookbook includes nutritional information, with icons instantly alerting readers to healthy, freezable, vegetarian, and super-quick options, as well as notes on preparing ahead, batching and freezing, and how to be creative with leftovers.

Lunch. Unless we are having leftovers, we often have sandwiches, which is getting a bit boring for me.
Every family meal. With 5 kids, who are all picky but in different ways, meal times is always a struggle, especially lunches and dinner.
Breakfast is my biggest challenge. I usually feel pretty ill in the mornings, so cereal and a piece of fruit is our go to. This looks like a great book!
