Since a child I have loved watching the Olympics.  I have so many wonderful memories of cheering on Team Canada with my family and friends.  From Gold Medal parties to cozy afternoons watching qualifiers the Olympics is always my favourite thing on TV.  Starting February 7th we can catch Team Canada on their quest for Gold in Sochi and I truly cannot wait!  During the last Winter Olympics I was pregnant with my twin boys and I remember thinking that we would be watching the next Winter Olympics together.  Hard to believe that 4 years later that is exactly what we will be doing :)

My Favourite Events:

Bobsleigh /Skeleton – I am absolutely in awe of the Bobsleigh and the sheer speed that the athletes plummet down the track.  And the Skeleton terrifies me – I cannot imagine going that fast with only a helmet to protect me!

Figure Skating – Since I was a little girl I have loved the beauty, grace and sheer talent of figure skaters and ice dancers possess.  I am really excited to watch Virtue and Moir dance/skate in Sochi!

Hockey – I have many vivid memories of cheering on the Canadian hockey team.  Our family has hosted some great Gold Medal parties – everyone in red & white – with so much excitement.

To cheer on Team Canada this year I made Olympic Yogurt Parfaits – the perfect family snack to enjoy while cheering on our athletes.

A simple yogurt parfait packed with protein rich greek yogurt and delicious strawberries.
Ingredients
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
  • Yoplait Yopa Greek Yogurt
  • Optional Chocolate Garnish

Instructions
  1. Using your favourite parfait glass layer the graham cracker crumbs, strawberries and yogurt. Top with a chocolate garnish.

  82. If I had to pick one favourite, it would probably be speed skating… or hockey… or pretty much everything. It is so hard to choose a favourite!

  105. I’ll probably have to go with the figure skating – with a background in synchronized swimming, anything that involves the timing of a team is something I like to watch.

  113. Hockey is my favourite sport to watch at the Olympics, although I love to watch so many of the various sports it is very difficult to choose just one.
