My boys love doing crafts, one of them loves painting and the other likes to put stickers, buttons or anything onto paper or designs. When I was looking for an easy craft we could make for Christmas I wanted to combine all of those things. So, we made these easy Button Trees. Great for kids from toddler to grade school, this craft can be as sophisticated or simple as you’d like. I loved in the end we had super cute ornaments to give to Nana and Papa. Kids Christmas Craft: Button Trees
What you’ll need:
popsicle sticks
washable paint
paint brushes
white glue
buttons (variety of sizes and colours)
Newsprint or another surface you can paint on
Instructions
Pour paint into small containers and place popsicle sticks (4 for each tree) on newsprint or paint safe surface. Paint sticks on one side, let dry, paint the other side.
Once completely dry form a triangle and glue the sticks together. Then, glue ‘trunk’. One tree is set glue buttons on. Set aside and let dry. Finally tie a ribbon around the top of the tree.
The age of your child will determine how much of each stage they are able to participate in. Either way, they will love making something special for Christmas to give away or hang from your own tree.
Happy Crafting!
