Since I was a little kid I’ve used Armour All products. My Dad used to wash his car in our driveway every week and I would get the job of rubbing the Armor All into the dash, the console and the doors. I loved it. My little hands fit in all those tiny places making the car shine.
Now, I use Armor All to keep my car looking brand new. And, like most Canadians I prefer the DIY method than taking it to a commercial car wash. Armor All recently surveyed Canadians and found that:
- Most Canadians (nearly 90 per cent) recognize the importance of a clean car. In spite of this a majority (91 per cent) only clean the interior and exterior of their cars a few times a year. Canadians prefer the ‘DIY’ approach when it comes to cleaning their cars with more than half (63 per cent) claiming that they clean the interior or exterior of their cars themselves.
- More than three-quarters (83 per cent) of Canadians use a commercial car wash only once a year and nearly half (48 per cent) say they only spend between $5- $10 on commercial car washes each time.
- Personal comfort is the number one reason Canadians clean their car. More than one-third of respondents (34 per cent) picked personal comfort over maintaining the value of the car (21 per cent), appearance (17 per cent), sanitary reasons (12 per cent) or keeping it clean for the family and kids (9 per cent) as the main motivation to keeping a clean car.
What does Armor All say in response to the survey?
“It’s evident that while most Canadians care about the cleanliness of their car, they’re also price conscious. Our specially-formulated, reasonably priced car care products provide a happy medium for Canadian DIY-ers who want to drive a clean car but don’t want to break the bank,” said Brian Benaissa, Armor All Canada.

Really depends on who’s in the mood lol. Evens out between my husband and I. It gets a good cleaning about 3 times a year and surface on a few times as well.

My father usually and perhaps every 2 weeks in the summer. It really depends of the temperature.
Everybody takes turns washing the car about once every 2 weeks.
