Despite the nagging head cold I was bound and determined to enjoy the perfect weather we have been having. Last summer the boys were cranky in the heat because they didn’t walk yet and found laying on a blanket or crawling around outside totally uninteresting. This summer is a whole differnt ball game. We are outside most of the day every day doing a variety of activities.
Bubbles, or “bubbies” as the boys prefer to call them are always a highlight. I got a long bubble wand at the dollar store which seems to produce a large volume of long lasting bubbles.
Their new water and sand table has also been a big hit. I have chosen to put water in both sides this year as I doubt my 2 year olds will understand the concept of keeping the water and sand seperate. I am trying to avoid having a mud table :) I looked around for a long time before I found one that I really liked. I ordered this Little Tikes one from Toys r us and have been really happy with it.
Then there was some truck riding (a daily activity at our house), some lawn watering and popsicles.
I was emailed recently by a reader asking where we got these large CAT trucks. We purchased ours at Costco. They are made by MegaBlocks, a great Canadian company. This is a similar one they have on their website. I would highly recommend them. They seem to be able to withstand the abuse my boys put them through.
While summer days with toddlers are hardly lazy days, they are filled with adventure, exploring and a whole new perspective on this beautiful area we call home.

Sand and water tables are the best for that age! So much fun and keeps them occupied for a while.
