Being a mom is hard on a good day, but when you are sick it is one of the most difficult things to do. You have no energy, all you want to do is sleep and your kids seem to be moving at the speed of light. For a couple of days I have had the head cold to end all head colds. My head feels like it is being squeezed by a vice. My throat hurts, my ear hurts and my eyes feel heavy. Pre kids I would have curled up on the couch watched some old romantic comedies and dozed all day. However, that is not my current reality. I have been napping when they nap, going to bed when they go to bed. The house is crumbling around us, but hopefully I’ll be 100% soon and the boys won’t catch this bug.
We’ve been to the zoo, the mall and watched far too many episodes of Thomas. We played outside and taken trips into to town. It’s at moments like this that I cannot even imagine how single mom’s do it. I have my husband to spell me off when I need to take a break, or ingest more DayQuil/NyQuil. On that note, back to the couch for me…

Oh, that sucks. There are no sick days for moms. But – here is a silver lining for you – when they are older, like five or six, they can understand when you’re sick and can watch tv or something while you nap! So. You just have to hold off being sick for a few years…but really! Your day is coming.
Sorry you’re sick, hope you feel better soon
