A friend linked to this post “And that’s why you should learn to pick your battles.” today from her Facebook wall and I honestly could not stop laughing while reading it. I was laughing so hard I was crying. The Bloggess is one of my favorite bloggers, but today, this post rang so true for me.
My husband and I have been bickering and fighting for what seems like months now (but is actually probably just a few weeks). It’s always about little things, we have always agreed on the big things, but the everyday, the laundry, the cleaning, the chores, whether or not the boys should watch tv etc. etc. etc. bogs us down and makes us crazy. I needed this laugh today and the reminder that marriage is full of ups and downs and apparently Big Metal Chickens!
I would TOTALLY give Matt a big metal chicken for our anniversary if I could find one. He would have absolutely ZERO sense of humour about it, though ;)
I think Martin would right off any gift like that as a “lost in translation” moment!
