For years I have driven by the same house. It is not a beautiful house, nor is it particularily well kept. I have never laid eyes on any of its inhabitants. In fact, save for a few weeks in late May/early June this house offers very little to attract attention.
For a brief moment in time each year the field beside this house is filled with vibrant reddish orange poppies. They suddenly appear as fuzzy green bulbs and then the next week they explode in colour. Each year I look forward to these flowers so much so that I purchased poppies for my garden a couple of years ago.
Today, as I walked by I noticed the first one had bloomed.
A stunning splash of colour.
A unique and special object of beauty.
