Triple Magic Bars Recipe

11 December 2014 by Kerrie @ Family Food and Travel 217 Comments

Kerrie @ Family Food and Travel
11 December 2014 | UPDATED ON: 21 February 2018

There is something magical about holiday baking. Chipits Baking Chips have been my go-to since I was taught how to bake.  The familiar yellow and brown packaging on the Semi-sweet Chipits bag brings back memories of making my favourite recipes with my mom and my grandmother. Whether I am grabbing a bag at my local grocery store or the club-pack at the warehouse store Chipits is my brand of choice for baking throughout the year, but especially during the holidays.  With a wide variety of recipes and the need for a range of flavours I know that I can get the flavour/variety I am looking for and the quality I expect from Hershey products.

I was inspired to make a modification on a traditional recipe.  Often called Magic Bars or Hello Dolly these bars are filled with everything you could ever dream of in a dessert – Chipits, coconut, graham crackers, sweetened condensed milk and butter.  Perfect right? My version combines Hershey Chipits Butterscotch, White Chocoalte and Semi-Sweet to turn the classic recipe into Triple Magic Bars

Triple Magic Bars

Ingredients:
2 cups graham wafer crumbs
3/4 cup salted butter, melted
1 can (300 ml) Regular or Low Fat sweetened condensed milk
1 cup Chipits Butterscotch Flavoured Baking Chips
1 cup Chipits Pure Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup Chipits White Chocolate Baking Chips
1 cup flaked coconut

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350C.
Combine graham crumbs and butter in a bowl until combined.
Press graham cracker mixture firmly and evenly into a parchment paper lined 13×9″ pan.
Pour sweetened condensed milk over graham cracker mixture.
Sprinkle Chipits Butterscotch Flavoured Baking Chips over condensed milk, then sprinkle Chipits Pure Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips, then the Chipits White Chocolate Baking Chips, and finally the flaked coconut.
Press mixture into pan pressing firmly.
Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes or until the coconut is browned and the edges have become firm.
Cool completely then lift parchment paper out and cut into bars.
Can be frozen or stored covered in the refrigerator.
