Apples are a cornerstone of our diet all year round, but fresh, Ontario apples grown locally are our absolutely favourite. We are really excited this year to have a cold storage in our home so that we can purchase a bushel of apples so we can eat local apples longer this year. This recipe for Baked Apples is made up of pantry staples so you can make this easily any day of the week.

I LOVE these!! I make them all the time – well – especially in the fall and winter months. Is there an apple that is best?? Some apples just don’t seem like a good fit such as granny smith as they are more of a tartness to them. I find that Empire, Spartan and MacIntosh work best. How about you?
