This is a guest post I did for The Things We Find Inside.
Greek Isles
One of my travel dreams was to go and see the Greek Isles. As a lover of History and a reader of the Odyssey I imagined what life would be like thousands of years ago in the Ancient Civilizations of Greece. The history, combined with the magnificent Mediterranean Sea and picture perfect scenery led me to dream of a vacation where I would get to see all that this area of the world had to offer.

Rhodes
My dream came true when I went on a cruise that took me to Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos, and Corfu.

Just as I thought, the whitewashed buildings set against the blue sea nestled on cliffs and within ancient ruins were everything I thought they would be.The seafood, salads and fresh olives were amazing, the shops nestled between alleys designed to confuse pirates were fun, quirky and unique, and the wineries were filled with delicious varieties of wines that flourish in the Mediterranean climate.
Santorini

I drank, I ate, I suntanned, and I people watched. I marvelled at the fishing boats that left daily, the many colours of the ocean and the buoyancy of my body in the high salt content water.
My favorite beach in Mykonos

I wish that I had more time. I longed for lazy days on the beach and long nights enjoying the nightlife. But, as a cruise ship passenger my time was limited. I loved every minute, and dream of returning for a vacation that would allow me to really soak in the culture, the environment and the beauty.
The Greek Isles were everything I thought they would be and more. They left me with a collection of memories and a longing to return someday soon.

I’ve been to Mykonos, Santorini and Rhodes! I was only sixteen, though, so I’d like to go back to properly appreciate it (and legally drink the local wines…)
