Since I was a young child books have been a favourite part of my life. I was an early reader, and loved everything about books. The colours, the illustrations, the stories. These two are children’s books to love. Filled with imagination and purpose they are fun to share, read and enjoy.
Green is a Chile Pepper is a beautiful, colourful and engaging book about exploring our colours, and learning some Spanish. As a family who is raising our boys to be bilingual (English/Spanish) this book has been really great for me to read with them and we talk about all of the stories they know about their Dad’s Mexican culture. I love the illustrations in this book – great colours, beautiful pictures and a fun read. My boys call it the “spicy pepper book”
At the Same Moment Around the World is an interesting discovery into people’s activities all around the world at the same moment in time. Each page represents a different time zone and what a child is doing there. In a simple story it teaches about culture, time zones, and the complexity of the world. This book is so beautiful that it would make a wonderful gift. I am amazed by it’s power to teach and the unique shape has my boys fascinated by it. We’ve talked about the countries the book talks about and looked at the pull out map.
There is just something so magical about beautiful children’s books. Stories to share, illustrations to marvel at and two special little boys for me to share them with.

Both of these books sound awesome! Our son can distinguish between English, Spanish, French, and Chinese and I would love for him to make a connection with a physical map!! Way to go on raising your children bilingual…I think it is super important for the connection they will have to their father!! I would love to live in Mexico for a year or two at one point so my son also feels an attachment to his father’s heritage.:) Loe your blog:)
