With twin 3 year olds and a husband who is a Chef laundry is a daily activity here. So much so that I have found that our laundry room is a constant hub of activity. Not a day goes by that there isn’t laundry piled up somewhere in our house!
In addition to large volumes of laundry we have tons of stains to deal with. Mud, grass, crayons, markers, oil, tomato sauce, salsa, popsicles, grease, butter, ketchup, juice, and the list goes one. With all of these stains I need a plan to make sure that our clothes are not ruined. This is our stain fighting team:
What’s my Resolve Tip?
For tough stains chose one of two options – 1. Pre-treat or 2. Soak with Resolve powder.
Pre-treat a Tomato Sauce/Salsa Stain
Tomato Sauce/Salsa stains happen often in our house. The easiest way I’ve found to treat this type of stain is to pre-treat it by mixing 1⁄4 scoop of powder with 3⁄4 scoop of warm water (it’s easiest to mix it all up in the scoop), then apply some of the paste to the stain. Leave it for about 5 minutes then use the knobbled scoop to work the paste gently into the stain. Finally, add the clothing to the rest of the wash load, add detergent as usual, and wash.
Soak a Mud/Dirt Stain
Boys will be boys and boys will get dirty! For the mud stains that we encounter we prefer to soak them to ensure that the deep stains are removed. To do that, I fill a bucket full of water (or the sink with a stopper). Warm water is better than cold, but never use hot water. Add a scoop of Resolve, then put the stained piece of clothing in and leave it to soak for around 30 minutes (never more than an hour). Take the piece and squeeze the water out getting the stain a rub while you do so. Finally, take the stained piece of clothing to the rest of the wash load, add detergent as usual, and wash.

Tomato sauce stains are definitely a big one in our house. The other one seems to be greasy finger marks on clothes. I’ve never tried Resolve powder. I will have to give it a go.

Great prizes on this and I have already got a couple new weapons in my laundry tool kit – Crystal White and Resolve powder pre-treat. I was already using that spray too!

The biggest stain at our house is grass stains. Such a hard time getting them out.

I’ve been using Resolve for years. I’ve not tried the Crystal White yet though. Will have to look for it next time I’m at the grocery store.
