All those things we think about as a kid seem so different now as we look back. It’s funny how those ‘life or death’ moments seem trivial now but how some lasting feelings and experiences stay with us forever. To celebrate Netflix’s newest leading lady, Queen Elizabeth II some of our favourite characters have written a letter to their younger selves.
Tune into The Crown – you will not be disappointed. The acting, setting and content is remarkable. You too will feel the weight of the crown.
One of my all time favourites – the women of Orange is The New Black are complex, funny, and awesome.
Chelsea is all kinds of awesome. Funny, witty and she tells it like it is. Tune into Chelsea with new episodes weekly.
What would I write? After some contemplation, here are my thoughts.
Dear Kerrie,
You’ve heard it before and you will hear it again, ‘Life’s not fair’
This is true, but it does not give you a reason to feel that you are hard done by or that things are out of your control.
Life certainly throws us twists and turns but in the end it’s your attitude that will dictate how you will feel about your friends, family and the world around you.
You are a good friend and someone who is always trying to please the people around you. While this can be a wonderful attribute try focusing on yourself and what you need too.
Travel often but make good choices financially. It’s not worth going into debt for.
Know yourself and take pride in all of your attributes. Be kind to yourself and more forgiving. Focus on building a healthy self esteem that can better handle the challenges life throws at you.
You are smart, kind and loving. These will take you far in life. Enjoy every single moment.Kerrie
If you were to write a letter to your younger self, what would it say?

Dear Margarita:
Listen to good friends like Kerrie because she has one good advice.
And exercise.
Margarita
That is what I would say to my younger self. 😃

Don’t we always say, “Oh if only I knew then, what know now.” I love this idea. It’s making me wonder what I would write to my younger self.

I think my letter would be pretty close!! It’s amazing the wisdom we get hindsight!

I love it! I would tell my younger self to make more mistakes and go on more adventures. I waited too long to do those things.

Orange Is The New Black is a great show! If I wrote a letter to myself they’d probably need to order more paper at the store because I’d have a lot to say.

What a fantastic letter to your younger self to share, I think it’s right on. It’s funny as we grow and mature as well as have new experiences that we would say certain things to our younger self now, looking back. Appreciate you sharing!

Thank you Mel!
