2 December 2015 | UPDATED ON: 2 December 2015

The smell of fresh brewed coffee is one of my favourite parts of the morning. Brewing a fresh cup of holiday coffee in my Keurig 2.0 has been my morning routine for the past couple of weeks and it’s truly the best way to start the day. While not flavoured, the unique blends of beans taste festive and delicious.

Growing up I always remember the smell of coffee on Christmas morning as my parents sipped their favourite brew. Now I realize they were drinking it to wake up as I’m sure I was awake at the crack of dawn! I’m excited that I get to share these delicious blends with my readers so that they can enter to win Timothy’s Christmas Blend and VanHoutte Holiday Blend.

I was eighteen & my good friend Mike invited me over to his house on Boxing Day to check out the new hockey equipment he received for Christmas. His home was decorated with all kinds ornaments, including a mistletoe hanging above the door frame of the dinning room. I never saw the mistletoe until his younger sister Anne kissed me, & I kissed her back. I forgot all about the hockey equipment & asked her to go out for a walk. The walk led to friendship, the friendship led to dates, & so on, & so on. It all led to marriage & 38 years later we still laugh about that mistletoe.

Having my first Christmas Tree in my new apartment. Given to me by my cousin who cut a ‘fresh’ tree for me, and after decorating it so LOV-ER-LY,, the next day after work I went back to my apartment only to see that there was not one decoration left nor a pine needle left. To this day I always remember the above and I know now that it was a SWAMP TREE that my cousin had given me!

I was kind of disappointed since I already had the same set that I had built and rebuilt many times, but then I opened it up and found out that they actually just used the empty box to hide the new video game that was on the top of my list. My biggest Christmas surprise ever, I’m sure my reaction would’ve gone viral if Youtube was around back then. :)

One year my brother in law brought a new girlfriend for Christmas. His mom had bought lots of presents for everyone including the new girlfriend, and we all had brought gifts for her as well, but I guess she felt her big bag of gifts wasn’t enough and she had a big temper tantrum before all the gifts were even opened because she felt some people had more gifts than her! It was the only time I’ve ever seen anything like that from an adult. Not the best Christmas ever, but definitely a memorable one! Lol, thankfully brother-in-law is with a lovely lady now and I’m sure she won’t be having any tantrums during our family Christmas this year! lol
