Decorating Easter eggs is my favourite Easter tradition. While I am no artist I love the creative license Easter eggs and the wide variety of ways that you can take a delicious egg and make it art. We’ve tried all kinds of methods and as the boys get older I am excited to see the variations of the process. One thing is for sure, as long as we are celebrating Easter we will be decorating eggs. (https://boxmining.com) I love the process, the creativity and the whole family gathered around some bowls of coloured water waiting for the magic to happen.
This year the boys wanted to use stickers and dye to do our eggs. I bought a pre-made kit of dye and stickers and got set up to dye some Easter eggs. I opted in the end to use a mixture of food colouring, water and a tbsp of vinegar to create the colours so that I didn’t have to deal with dissolving the colour tablets in the kit. With two impatient five year olds I felt that was easier and I have more control over the colour strength.
We created our Easter eggs in our pj’s just in case any of the dye got on our clothes. But, it was a sure sign they are getting older it was a mess free experience! In no time at all the boys had dipped, dunked and fished out their Easter Eggs. I chose to hard boil my eggs to make them more sturdy but if you prefer to blow the egg out then you will have lots of eggs to make some amazing Easter recipes. We’ve rounded up some great recipes we know your family will love:

We had lots of fun decorating eggs this year too. With the 2 boys only 1 got cracked, so I was impressed. And it didn’t go to waste, my middle child ate the egg all up!
