Pink Buttercream Icing

This pink buttercream icing is perfect for topping our Heart Filled Cupcakes. Also great for any occasion that pink icing is needed.

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 4 cups icing sugar (powdered sugar)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • pinch of salt
  • Tiny bit of pink gel icing colour the amount that fits on a knife tip Add more if desired


  1. In a stand mixer add the butter and half the icing sugar and mix until combined.
  2. Add in vanilla, lemon juice and remaining icing sugar and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add pinch of salt and whip until light and fluffy.
  4. Place inside a piping bag[ with a Wilton large star icing tip.

  5. Top with a few heart sprinkles.
