{"id":6310,"date":"2014-01-29T07:10:45","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T12:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/?p=6310"},"modified":"2014-01-30T00:39:41","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T05:39:41","slug":"diy-love-bug-finger-puppets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/29\/diy-love-bug-finger-puppets\/","title":{"rendered":"DIY Love Bug Finger Puppets","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-Vertical.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6312\" alt=\"love bug finger puppets\" src=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-Vertical-722x1024.jpg\" width=\"722\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-Vertical-722x1024.jpg 722w, https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-Vertical-211x300.jpg 211w, https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-Vertical.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 722px) 100vw, 722px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was looking for a fun craft I could make with my boys to celebrate Valentine&#8217;s Day. \u00a0We had bought a fun craft pack at the dollar store that included pom poms, googly eyes and pipe cleaners. \u00a0I instantly thought that finger puppets would be fun. \u00a0While it ended up being too challenging a craft to make with my almost 4 year olds, they loved the finished product!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6313\" alt=\"Love Bugs\" src=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs.jpg\" width=\"1000\" height=\"777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bugs-300x233.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Supplies for Love Bug Finger Puppets:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>coloured pom poms of various sizes<\/li>\n<li>pipe cleaners<\/li>\n<li>small googly eyes<\/li>\n<li>hot glue gun<\/li>\n<li>scissors that can cut pipe cleaners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Directions:<\/h2>\n<p>Wrap pipe cleaner around your finger until tightly wound around your finger. \u00a0Cross excess pipe cleaner over so that the wound pipe cleaner does not unravel. \u00a0(do this a second time to make a thicker puppet like the example on the right with the pink body).<\/p>\n<p>Hot glue a pom pom on for the head, then glue on googly eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Attach either pom poms or cut and shaped pipe cleaner on the head.<\/p>\n<p>Cut and shape pipe cleaners into a heart and glue to the back to form it&#8217;s wings.<\/p>\n<p>Then, get ready to play!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bug-Finger-Puppets-Collage.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6315\" alt=\"love bug finger puppets front and back\" src=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bug-Finger-Puppets-Collage-512x1024.jpg\" width=\"512\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bug-Finger-Puppets-Collage-512x1024.jpg 512w, https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bug-Finger-Puppets-Collage-150x300.jpg 150w, https:\/\/familyfoodandtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Love-Bug-Finger-Puppets-Collage.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My favourite part of this project was that it cost only a few cents. \u00a0Our craft package from the dollar store cost $1.25 and could have made 25 puppets!
