Atole can be a variety of flavours but the base is always the same. Atole is made with Masa and is traditionally served with Tamales. Atole de Pina has a delicious tangy taste in a thick, warm beverage. It is a favourite served alongside Tamales because of the use of the Masa in the drink. It is a heartwarming thick beverage that is great as an after dinner drink, with an afternoon snack or for special celebrations. My husband loves to have it in the morning, especially on a cold day while I prefer it in the evening because it is so soothing and warm.
