As a busy single mom I understand that time is so precious. Whether it is meetings, deadlines, doctor’s appointments or soccer practice there doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day. When I heard about the BMODayOff campaign I was really excited to see what this meant. How would a big company like BMO give someone a day off? Would they call the boss of an overworked employee? Would they provide a babysitter for an overwhelmed mom? Would they take over someone’s job for the day?<\/p>\n

Like so many hard working Canadians, Arash was working morning till night to operate his deli in Toronto. An injury, a caring Assistant Branch Manager and a willing company made a special day possible, but in the end they did so much more than that. BMO’s #HelpGiven campaign is more than just an opportunity for a big corporation to ‘give back’ it’s about employees coming together to help someone in a meaningful way. It’s about rolling up their sleeves and taking on a challenge and while they helped Arash get a much needed day off they also became stronger as a team and a community. I loved that the BMO employees were right in there making sandwiches, taking orders and operating all parts of this great small business so Arash could truly have a day off.<\/p>\n
