Taking care of my teeth is something that has been extremely important to me. My mom always encouraged me to brush often and to ensure that I was flossing regularly. We always talked about how important it was to eat healthy, brush our teeth and take care of our body. With my mom’s encouragement I developed a regular habit of brushing and flossing. Now it’s second nature and I really dislike the feeling of teeth that aren’t clean.

In addition to loving clean teeth I also loved going to the dentist. I had an awesome dentist who was fun, really listened and took good care of my oral health. I loved my dentist so much that I wanted to be a dentist when I grew up! That was until I realized that I was not a adept science student.

Now that I am a mom teaching these important skills and habits is really important to me. It is so important to help my boys understand that you need to be proactive when it comes to your oral health. Not taking care of your teeth can dramatically affect your quality of life including your physical, mental and social well-being. If you are looking for help, your dentist can help detect, diagnose, and treat/prevent problems you might not know about. From oral cancer to cavities and everything in between your dentist is taking care of more than just teeth and gum health.
