8 Things I Love about Winter

February 9, 2013 Kerrie @ Family Food and Travel 8 Comments

Winter is a season you either love or hate.  The cold temperatures, scraping your car windshield and shoveling your driveway can all be a challenge.  But, even with these downsides their are many things I love about winter. things I love about winter

8 Things I love about winter…

Squeaky snow

Hockey games

Warm fuzzy socks

The sparkle the sun makes on the fresh snow, like tiny diamonds on an open field

The rosy cheeks everyone has when they are out in the cold

The feeling of fresh, crisp air

The permission a snowy day gives you to stay inside in your jammies just a little while longer

Movie nights by the  fireplace

Most people that love winter are active in all of the winter sports, skiing, skating, snowmobiling.  I don’t do any of those!  But, I do marvel in the beauty of it.  Over the last two days we have received a pile of fresh snow.  It is something that amazes me every time it happens.  From the piles of fresh snow to the beauty of it stuck to the trees it is a Winter Wonderland out there.

My boys favorite parts of Winter =  the Zamboni, and the snowplow!

I’m not usually a big fan of winter because I don’t like the cold but even I have to admit that it was all very pretty today with the massive amount of freshly fallen snow and the sunshine and blue skies! Love the pic of your boys watching out the window!

Thanks Lisa. The boys LOVE that window, especially if any moving vehicle is out there!

Great picture. I usually abhor the wintertime hassle of shoveling and driving to work but this blizzard I had off from work and really enjoyed the weekend! Power outages and all. Off to put a pair of fuzzy socks on stopping by from sharefest :)

We don’t get true winter down here. I found myself a little jealous of my snowed in family up north yesterday. It still gets chilly, though, so like you, I like fuzzy socks and curling up in front of the fireplace.

I don’t really like cold weather but I do enjoy watching the snow fall (from inside) and then the hot chocolate that comes after a few minutes (or hours if we let the kids decide how long to stay out) of sledding or snow man making.
