Today was one of those rare days when I had time to spend individually with each of my boys. With twins, this is a tough thing to manage, especially when they are this young. They love to be together, and quite often fuss and cry whenever they are separated. Today, however, they decided to nap at different times allowing me some precious time with just one, and then the other one. With my husband working, it was just me and and one of the boys for most of the morning. We played trains, made lunch, cleaned out a closet and explored around the house. The funny part is that I was drinking out of my Starbucks water glass (although I suspect it is a frappuccino glass) and he insisted that he try.
He spent at least 30 minutes just enjoying drinking from it, looking at it, and singing to it. It gave me an appreciation for just how special it was for him to use something that I used all of the time. Since they are boys, the chances of me loaning them my jewelry or a purse, but I have a feeling we will be sharing a lot of time together in the future chatting over a cup of coffee. It is these moments that make me appreciate just how lucky I am to have these beautiful boys. Funny how just sharing a cup can make you realize so much.
