The beautiful buttercream tastes like it has a special ingredient to make it even more delicious but other than some lemon juice it is a pure vanilla buttercream. If you’d like to add a flavour try putting in a couple of drops of a strawberry flavouring. Don’t forget these cute heart shaped sprinkles and you’re ready to make your own heart filled cupcakes.
Heart Filled Cupcakes Directions:
Make cupcakes according to a chocolate cake mix or make your own chocolate cupcakes.
Once cooled use a cupcake coreror a knife and carefully cut out the middle of the cupcake.
Fill with heart sprinkles. then top with buttercream icing.
Pink Buttercream Icing
1/2 cup salted butter
4 cups icing sugar (powdered sugar)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp lemon juice
pinch of salt
Tiny bit of pink gel icing colour for colour. (the amount that fits on a knife tip) Add more if desired.
In a stand mixer add the butter and half the icing sugar and mix until combined.
Add in vanilla, lemon juice and remaining icing sugar and mix thoroughly.
Add pinch of salt and whip until light and fluffy.
Place inside a piping bag with a large star icing tip.
Top with a few heart sprinkles.
